Kilcannon Industries - Other Services

The clients of Kilcannon participate actively in Special Olympics activities and organise day trips to local places of interest. Holidays in Ireland and abroad are also organised and these trips are extremely popular with the clients and staff. Who have recently traveled to Spain and Portugal.

Kilcannon also offers a Day Service to clients attending St. Senan’s Hospital some of whom have mental health difficulties as well as a learning disability. This allows them to interact with other clients and members of the public and regain their confidence. In time they are ready to move on to full employment. This service is mainly concentrated in our packaging section which supplies cardboard packaging to local engineering firms and local honey and fruit producers. They also package clothes line rope and lorry rope for Irish Polythene Agri. A full carwash service is also available from Kilcannon Industries.

Kilcannon Industries works closely with the local Partnership Group, the GAA, The Golf Club, Active Retirement Group, Swimming Pool, The Co. Council, Pobal, HSE, and the local schools. In 2006 the service was asked by the Enniscorthy Urban District Council and the Chamber of Commerce to help with the Christmas Street Festival. A Santa’s Cabin was erected in the Market Square and proved very popular with local children. It was an extremely successful venture for the service and one that we hope to continue each year.
