Respite Service
The Respite service run by CWCW (E) Ltd. offers a much needed break for those with disability and their families or carers. The house in Caim was opened in January 2004 to accommodate five guests and team of staff comprising of a Team Leader, Staff Nurse and Care Staff. It is currently opened six days per week and caters for Adults and Children. Altogether there are about 130 adults who avail of this service and it covers a wide area including Wexford, New Ross, Bunclody, Gorey and Enniscorthy.
There are huge demands on the Respite service and this facility could be expanded upon.
Summer Camps
The service also runs Summer Camps for adults over the summer holidays (this year the Summer Camp was run as a day service). Fun activities and short trips are organised and an example of these include Bowling in the Leisureplex in Wexford, Disco/Party in Monageer, visits to places of interest ie. 1798 Centre, day trip to Courtown with a visit to the Craanford Mills where tea and scones were enjoyed by all. The Summer Camp also enjoys the facilities of our ‘Astro Active’ sports centre where a sports programme was developed to suit individual abilities which is received with great enthusiasm. All participants really enjoy the Summer Camp and it provides a holiday experience for those who do not get the opportunity to have a summer holiday away with family or friends.
